2010 Iloilo Dinagyang Festival “In The Hall of Fame” Distinction

As concord by the triumviri of the Iloilo City Government, Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation, Inc. (IDFI), and San Jose Parish, this year’s 2010 Dinagyang Festival has its own distinction.

This new branding is an indicative achievement declared by the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) as the Best Tourism Event in the Philippines for four consecutive years. Thus, the new distinction has been given as “Dinagyang Festival in the Hall of Fame.”

This is a week-long celebration showcasing Ilonggo culture in honor of Senor Santo Nino, the Child Jesus.

After a long process of ideation, it has been agreed to give more importance the essence of the upcoming festival – to make a cultural menagerie and exhibitory occasion, to get global attention, to live up to being the best tourism event in the hall of fame, to maintain its religiosity, to reach out for the marginalized and less privileged sectors, to continue as an economic driver of the City and to attain financial sustainability.

“2010 Iloilo Dinagyang Festival” will be the official name of forthcoming event.

As they closely conceptualized the ideology, the year precedes the title of the festival to distinctly standardize and differentiate its uniqueness from the other festivities outside Western Visayas.

The tagline for “2010 Iloilo Dinagyang Festival” is “In the Hall of Fame.” It exemplifies and draws the festival as a model example of a premier and highly acclaimed world-class festival.
