It is a tough job for Academy members of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to choose who will be the Best Picture of the upcoming 82nd Oscars Awards.
The road to Oscars is on its way to handicap those nominees especially the Best Picture Awards. Currently, there are Nine films who are nominated for Best Picture that includes Avatar, The Blind Side, District 9, An Education,The Hurt Locker,Inglorious Basterds, Precious, Up, and Up In the Air.
But what are really the Oscars’ Best Picture Preferences?
Configuring the past winners, I’ve noticed that previous Best Picture champs have possessed these qualities to be named as “Oscars Best Picture”
1. They are grand scale
2. They are dramas or musicals
3. They represent a technological advance
4. They express liberal political or social sentiments – but only those that everybody already agrees with
5. They are box office successes
6. They are usually not the product of a brilliant directorial talent, but of a great team effort
7. They are not artistically adventurous or audacious.
Academy Members like grand-scale movies. Films that represent a technical advance have an edge as well. It is called the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences because a lot of members are from scientific and technical disciplines.
Well, let see and find out the final verdict this coming March 07, 2010 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
