Mall Cops: Mall of America Show

TLC, The Learning Channel is an American cable TV network which carries a variety of informational and reality-based programming will air a one-hour special about the Mall of America on Thursday at 9 p.m..

The show is entitled MALL COPS: MALL OF AMERICA. As the name itself, it will focus on the mall’s security guards.

Here’s the show description from TLC’s Web site: “An action-packed day in the life of the Mall of America, as seen through the eyes of the men and women assigned to guard its stores and shoppers: the mall cops. From protecting celebs to busting shoplifters, there’s no job too big for the mall cops.”

The hour-long show does include a shoplifting arrest, a celebrity on a roller coaster and at least one screaming kook. Three TLC film crews spent 12 hours a day at the mall for three-and-a-half weeks earlier this year to get the footage for the show.

“The hope is that if it is well-received, they might consider turning it into a series,” Mall of America spokesman Dan Jasper said.
